I was audited and sent back everything they asked for, but haven't received a response. We currently have a longer-term installment balance of $48k and estimate our 2020 tax balance to be around $75k. We won't have the full $75k by April 15. Will the IRS allow us to do a 120-day payment extension when we already have an installment agreement, or should we pay off the current balance of $48k and then get a new installment agreement for our new balance? We do not want to provide financial documents and such, as it's simpler to get an installment agreement when you owe less than $50k.
