I am putting together my own taxes and have a question about dependents' stimulus checks. I am divorced, and my ex claimed our son for 2019. For 2020, I claim him, but the stimulus checks went to the person who filed in 2019. Is it fair to say that in my filing, I did not receive the full amount of $2900, as I only received $1800? When I adjust amounts to what I received, it shows I qualify for Recovery Rebate Credit, and the refund goes up to the amount dependents received, which is $1100.

Can a taxpayer who was a dependent on their parents' return for 2019 (no stimulus received) and is not a dependent with an AGI under $25,000 for both 2019 and 2020 receive credit for both stimulus payments on their 2020 tax return?

I started my own business in January 2020 but had to close it in March 2020 due to the pandemic. I continued working my part-time job, which I am still doing. I want to file for unemployment for my business, but I am not eligible for my part-time job since I was moved to teletherapy. If I quit my part-time job, will that allow me to file a claim? I am currently in debt and struggling to make ends meet, and I am also concerned about my health due to the child I am working with having COVID-19.

I made a mistake on my tax return filed with FreeTax USA. I stated I received $600 on the first stimulus when it was actually $1200. I am located in Lexington County, SC, and I have no dependents. What should I do?

I’m 55 and diagnosed with diabetes. I was furloughed from Disney due to COVID-19 and decided to collect my retirement benefits, receiving a lump sum of $63,881, from which $12,669 was withheld for taxes. Do I need to pay a penalty for early retirement, or has the pandemic eliminated that regulation?
