I am concerned about my tax bracket and using large draws from my 401k to purchase a home. I also have capital gains from my home sale and will sell some land, which will involve a small gain. I had a bad experience with an IRS agent after waiting for two hours. I need to know how to pay my tax bill in about a week. I called for an extension during the last tax season because I didn't have enough money to pay my bill, and I was given an extension until October 7. I never received a letter from the IRS or any information other than a check that was returned to me for a partial payment. The person I spoke to informed me that I had a bounced check fee, interest, and other large fees, which were all new to me. If I had known about these, I would have tried to pay more instead of waiting and taking out a loan. Which tax year am I filing for, and is there anything else the accountant should know before I connect?

Our Medicare supplement, United Health Care (UHC), is denying payment for their portion of a medical bill ($2629.00) even though Medicare has already paid their portion ($10,756.91). UHC claims Medicare denied the claim, but this is incorrect. We have provided UHC with proof of Medicare's payment but they are still denying payment. What steps can we take to resolve this issue and get UHC to pay their share?
