I received a 2020 1099-C Cancellation of Debt form from US Bank, indicating a debt discharge of $3404.56 on 12/23/20. My wife and I are not familiar with this debt and there have been no collection attempts. US Bank also cannot find any evidence of this debt. What should I do before filing our 2020 taxes?

I electronically filed my taxes and realized after I submitted it I made a mistake by checking the box stating that I didn’t want it direct deposited and I didn’t want a refund. I sent in an amended return this last Friday explaining my error as I still haven’t got my $600 yet. Will the IRS catch my mistake? Will it affect my 3rd stimulus payment?
