I received a letter from the IRS stating I am due a refund of $1,893, which I believe is a mistake. I have already filed my 2021 income tax, where I reported $10,900 in income and received no federal refund, only a $145 refund from the state of New Mexico, which is currently on hold. The letter mentions a recovery rebate credit I did not apply for, and I suspect someone may have used my information fraudulently. I need to resolve this issue by June 10, 2022, and want to make an appointment with the IRS for a face-to-face meeting to correct my actual income tax for 2021. How can I get an appointment as soon as possible?
