I am married but filing separately this year. Can I file as head of household, and can I claim my daughter who earned more than $13,000 as my dependent?

I set up my NYS estimated tax payments such that the first payment comes out of my refund, and the balance of the other three will be paid on the NYS website. The software knows that I must pay estimated for the other three times and $0 on April 18. However, the screen stating that I will pay estimated later shows that I have set up $0 for my total NYS tax payments, and the next screen in bright red states that I have to go to State Taxes because I have $0 for estimated. What should I do to resolve this issue?

I took an early withdrawal of $4,000 from my IRA before I turned 59 1/2 and another $18,000 after I turned 59 1/2. I have W2 income of about $35,000 and I'm filing for an extension. I need to know if I owe taxes and penalties, and which extension option to select (June 15th or October 15th).
