If the IRS sent a letter requesting additional information on my 2023-current tax return, do I need to wait for the letter or can an IRS agent look up my information? I received a verbal notice to wait for a letter and filed my return on 02/12/24. This is the first time I've received such a notice. What else do they need?

Using Turbo Tax, I was able to download all my investment 1099 forms from Fidelity, except one from Bank of America's private banking. I entered both short and long term gains manually. The software told me I need to mail a copy of my 1099 from BoA to IRS. Is that correct? For all other accounts, which were downloaded directly through Turbo Tax, do I need to do the same, i.e., mail a copy of the 1099 to IRS? All accounts are stocks and bonds managed by Fidelity or BoA.
