I received a Lump Sum Distribution from my employer in Dec. 2016 as a Severance Package for my position being eliminated. I am considering Income Averaging (over 3 yrs). I see forms for Farmers and Fishermen. What form should I use to do the math and determine if Income Averaging would be beneficial for me?

I have been separated since 10/16 and am just now starting divorce proceedings. I was trying to file as married, filing separately, online and at the end my spouses info, which I don't have, was requested. Am I required to provide her info as well? My lawyer asked me to find out if it would be more advantageous to file separately or in a joint filing.

Will starting to collect Social Security benefits in January 2021 increase my income, which will subsequently increase my student loan payments? Or does Social Security not have taxes taken out of it? If taxes are not deducted from the income, is it not considered income and thereby not affect student loan payment currently set?

An individual taxpayer has a $212,000 balance due on their 2019 1040 to be filed by October 15, 2020. The taxpayer would like to be granted a monthly installment agreement to pay off the balance. Does a Form 9465 Installment Agreement Request need to be filed with the 2019 1040 along with a Form 433-F? Alternatively, should the taxpayer just file the return and wait for a collection notice to request an installment agreement?

In previous years, I've seen softcopies of my husband's W-2 and our joint tax return. This year, he has not shown me either. We have a company and typically my husband gathers the information to provide to the Small Business Agency, which requests both my W-2, his, joint tax return, stock, etc. for both on separate websites and logins. Due to high tension in our marriage, he has been reluctant to share his financials, W-2 information, and the joint tax return. How can I obtain this information?
