We were notified that we won $650,000.00 in a lottery in February 2011 and that the money is in escrow in Panama City, Panama. We are now being asked to pay $3250 per form to file with the IRS and Customs to release the money, which will then be delivered by FedEx and we will be reimbursed. Is this a scam, and were we told correctly that this money would be tax-free?

My husband's ex-wife forged his signature on a joint tax return filed after their divorce. She filed for the year 2002 in 2004, when they were legally married but unofficially separated. He was receiving only SSI/SSD and didn't have to file taxes that year. The IRS is taking money out of his SSD due to the back taxes she owes. We have proof that the signature is not his. What can we do to resolve this issue and potentially get the money back?
