I made $36,000 and have deductions for medical premiums and union dues. I received $3,600 from SSI from January to September. I have $400 a month taken out for taxes, $26.20 a month for medical, and $43.40 a month for union dues. Am I going to owe taxes because of the SSI? My dad suggested filing using the income tax averaging law. Can you tell me what would be best if I will owe, etc.?

I filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in August and still can't make ends meet. I owe more on my house than it's worth. I have a first and second mortgage. If I foreclose, can they attach my wages? Can I drop the Chapter 13 and just work out a payment plan with my creditors?

My ex owes me and my two kids over $10,000 in child support arrears. Our divorce agreement, which is a court order, states that we each claim one child for our taxes. Since he is behind on support, can I claim both children for tax purposes? He pays his monthly obligation but hasn't addressed the back support. I live in MA with the kids, and he lives in TX.
