I have a lamp with an ivory elephant base about 10" across. I bought it about 40 years ago in an antique shop from a reputable dealer. How can I tell if it really is ivory? And is antique ivory allowed to be sold in this country? The lamp has a silk shade, a wooden base, and is in very good condition with no visible cracks.

I have an 1883/1884 Douay & Rheims Holy Bible with Rev. Geo. Leo Haydock's notes & references, illustrated, and in good condition. The cover shows some wear, the spine is cracked but fully attached, and it has not been repaired or altered. The pages are in mint condition. How do I find the edition and get an official appraisal for its value?
