I have an antique fireplace mantel that is 80 inches tall, 60 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. It has a mantle shelf above and below the original oval beveled mirror, and round columns on both sides. The back has 'Tell City Desk Co.' and the word 'birch'. I'm wondering what its worth, both in its current condition and after refinishing.

I would like an evaluation of an oil painting. I have photos. I inherited the painting and do not know its history. There is no signature, and it appears to be oil on board (possibly masonite). It is framed in a period frame with brown paper on the back, so I cannot view the back of the painting itself. I have tried to research the subject of the portrait, thinking he might be an important figure from the 1900s, but I have not found anything. I have attached additional photos as requested, including the back and any signature. What can you tell me about this painting and its potential value?
