I have a Maytag Neptune front load dryer (mde9700ayw) that won't start tumbling. The control panel lights come on, but when I press the selector knob to start the dryer, I hear a single click from the lower left corner of the cabinet. The diagnostic code '10' was returned in service mode, and the Control Lock Light is lit. I've checked the thermostats, thermistors, and the motor's pins 4 and 5, which read 1 ohm instead of the expected 2 ohms. What could be the issue, and what further steps should I take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem?

I'm renting a home with a pair of Samsung washer/dryers, just one year old. The dryer has started to not work well and doesn't have hot air coming out much, sometimes showing a code OD. The vents are clear, and this was a sudden problem. Is this possibly a big and/or expensive problem, and is it reasonable that the warranty doesn't cover this after only one year?
