I have a model 790 (2007 or so) Kenmore gas range. Recently, it smells strongly of unburned gas at the start-up of the oven. Once preheated, it smells/works fine and seems to get up to temperature. I changed the oven ignitor, but the issue persists. What could be causing this smell, and what steps can I take to diagnose and fix the problem?

My gas cooktop model#JPG970SEK2SS has igniters that tick and produce a small spark every 30 seconds. When the knob is turned to the light position, the igniter sparks strongly and lights the flame properly. I tried unplugging the stove to reset it, but the igniters still tick. What could be the issue and what should I do?
