My gas cooktop model#JPG970SEK2SS has igniters that tick and produce a small spark every 30 seconds. When the knob is turned to the light position, the igniter sparks strongly and lights the flame properly. I tried unplugging the stove to reset it, but the igniters still tick. What could be the issue and what should I do?

I own a Jenn Air Ceramic Cooktop - Model # CVE3401B. A pot of water boiled over and some water got into one of the on/off dials, causing an arc of electricity. Now none of the burners will heat up, although the light shows they are on. The exhaust fan still works fine. Can this be fixed, and should I call an appliance repairman or an electrician?
