I have a Premier brand range/oven that is about 15 years old and not used often. The oven temperature has always been higher than the dial setting. I made a chart of dial settings and actual temperatures: 100=275, 150=325, 200=375, 250=425, 300=500. The oven turns off when the dial is off and the broiler turns on when set to Broil. I checked the capillary bulb, temperature control, foil use, and vent, but they don't seem to be the issue. The knob has no calibration screw, and the probe is not broken or touching other metal parts. How can I calibrate the knob without affecting the 'Off' and 'Broil' positions? Is it possible the probe is damaged but not broken? How do I determine if the probe needs replacement and how do I replace it if necessary?
