I have a top-load washing machine purchased on 7/13/2019. It fills and spins normally, but when set on the speed wash cycle, it fills for the rinse cycle all the way to the top and takes a long time to drain. What could be the issue, and what steps can I take to troubleshoot and potentially fix it?

My refrigerator had frost on the back wall of the freezer. I unplugged it to defrost, but there seems to be a block of ice going down into the back, and I don't know where the water from the defrosting went. The freezer temperature was set at 6, and I don't know where the damper or thermistor are or what to check. How long has this been going on with your refrigerator? What have you tried so far?
