I have two questions about appliances: 1) My Kenmore dryer (2005 model 417-84042500) has been used more frequently lately and now the top dryer does not heat up at all, while the bottom one works fine. I suspect either the thermostat control or the heating element. How can I determine the issue without a service call? 2) My Whirlpool washer (model ESR5233AW0) is being used more often and now the timer control on the regular wash setting progresses to time-out but nothing happens after the agitation stage. I suspect the timer assembly/control. How can I confirm this?

I just purchased a residence with a WHIRLPOOL Model RS675PXB Electric Range Drop In. I want to replace it with a new WHIRLPOOL Range in Stainless Steel with induction surface elements and a self-cleaning oven, but without convection. I am concerned about whether the physical dimensions of my current model can be replicated by a newer model. What would the new model number be?

My Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher will not turn off, started on its own, and has a burning smell. The panel does not indicate the cycle, and it makes a funny noise when the door is opened. None of the keypads work to cancel the cycle. What could be the issue and how can I temporarily shut it off?

I own an LDS4821WW dishwasher. For months, there has been a high-pitched noise during the wash cycle, and recently, I smelled smoke and the display showed 'PF'. One of my kids turned the microwave on with no food in it. My wife said she turned it off when she smelled something burning. Ever since it will not work. There's no power coming to the unit. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a burning smell in my Whirlpool washing machine. It fills, shuts off, but won't agitate, spin, or empty. It has a faint hum sound which lasts for about 10-15 seconds and then stops. Trying again right away, no hum, but if I wait awhile it hums again. What could be causing this and what steps can I take to diagnose and potentially fix the issue?
