My Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher will not turn off, started on its own, and has a burning smell. The panel does not indicate the cycle, and it makes a funny noise when the door is opened. None of the keypads work to cancel the cycle. What could be the issue and how can I temporarily shut it off?

One of my kids turned the microwave on with no food in it. My wife said she turned it off when she smelled something burning. Ever since it will not work. There's no power coming to the unit. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a burning smell in my Whirlpool washing machine. It fills, shuts off, but won't agitate, spin, or empty. It has a faint hum sound which lasts for about 10-15 seconds and then stops. Trying again right away, no hum, but if I wait awhile it hums again. What could be causing this and what steps can I take to diagnose and potentially fix the issue?
