I shut off the water while on vacation without turning off the ice maker. After turning the water back on, I noticed a water leak. Have I damaged the ice maker, or is there something else causing the leak? The fridge is 15 years old, and the water filter was replaced only a week before we left. What should I check or do to resolve this issue?

We have a Maytag washer model #MVW7230HW. It isn’t working and I have clothes that have washed inside. The lock on the lid will not release. Is there a manual way to release it? I’m afraid my clothes are going to spoil. I have called the Lowes Service Advantage because we do have a warranty on it but they can’t come before 4/6 days.
