Heating element is discontinued for Maytag dryer model YMEDC500VWO. Element part #3403590. Are heater elements on Amazon for (###) ###-#### interchangeable? The dryer is about 12 years old and is overheating. When I put the multimeter on the heating element, I detect a short. The thermal fuse was fried and replaced, and the duct was cleaned of lint. However, the dryer still dries hot, and clothes are very hot at the end of the cycle. I manage the heat by using timing dry.
