I have a Kenmore top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer model 2130. During the wash and rinse cycles, it has started making a loud screeching noise that sounds like metal grinding on metal. The cycle completes and the clothes get done, but I think I'm waking up the neighbors. The noise seems to be coming from the top left of the machine during the agitation parts of the cycle, and the spins are okay with no noise. What could be causing this noise and what should I check?

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher KUDM01TJWH0. It will not start, only the light clean cycle and the drain cancel buttons work. The dishwasher works normally after turning off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes or more, but returns to the previous state after a full cycle. I have reseated each connector in the controls, but there is no change. What could be causing this issue and what should I do?
