My LG front load washer, model Tromm 2455H, is leaking from the back, spraying water into the motor and all over the electrical wires. The water also dripped from underneath, wetting the custom built stands and the floor. The washer will be 10 years old in August. Is it worth fixing, and if so, what should I check?

I have a Thermador model CV2536 under the counter downdraft vent fan for my Thermador gas cooktop. When I raise the downdraft vent and turn on the fan, I hear a humming noise but the motor doesn't start. If I switch the variable speed off and on several times, the fan usually starts. Is this a switch issue, a motor issue, or a capacitor issue?
