My Maytag washer, model MVWC200XW2, serial C22630103, is 4 years old and stops at the rinse cycle. It starts with the lid locked and green sensing light on, then goes to green wash light and red lid locked light, then to green rinse light, pumps out some water, and goes to green flashing light. What could be the issue and how can I fix it?

I have a 15-year-old side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with a model number GS5SHGXLS00 and serial number SM1334090. The area around the seal where the door closes with a rubber gasket is extremely hot, reaching approximately 140 degrees, which can cause a first-degree burn. What is the issue, and is there something clogged that is causing the heat to accumulate around the seals instead of releasing out the back?
