My Maytag washer will not start, and the lid lock light keeps flashing. The washer is 4 to 5 years old and is an Eco conserve automatic water level model. It started to flood under the tub when my wife was doing a wash, and after turning it off and on, it drained most of the water but then started the sensing light and the lid light again. What could be the issue and what steps can I take to fix it?

I can't unlock my Whirlpool washer, which had an F21 error before this. I've tried unplugging it and resetting it, but the issue persists.
