My old refrigerator stopped cooling last night. The motor keeps running and tries to turn on the cooling unit every 2 to 5 minutes but just clicks and draws power as the light goes dim for a few seconds. I have a 20-year-old GE side-by-side refrigerator and need a hinge for the fridge top side. The part number is XXXXX XXXXX, but it seems to be discontinued and unavailable. Do I need the exact part, or can I use a hinge from another model? What are my options if I can't find one?
