We have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic pan where the ice is stored keeps breaking. We think it's because the ice maker is overproducing ice, which pushes down on the pan and causes it to crack. The pan is a plastic rounded bowl, and replacing it seems to require replacing the entire ice maker, which is expensive. Is this true, and is there a way to fix or prevent this issue?

My freezer has a bad smell, feels warm, and the meat appears to have freezer burn. The freezer is an Americana brand, at least 10 years old. I have tried changing the temperature, and for a while, the refrigerator was freezing everything. What should I do to address these issues?
