We have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic pan where the ice is stored keeps breaking. We think it's because the ice maker is overproducing ice, which pushes down on the pan and causes it to crack. The pan is a plastic rounded bowl, and replacing it seems to require replacing the entire ice maker, which is expensive. Is this true, and is there a way to fix or prevent this issue?
