My address book, which usually appears on the right-hand side of my computer screen, is now not visible when I open it to send a message. It fills up the entire screen, preventing me from sending my message. How can I fix this problem?

I have multiple issues with my HP Pavilion A6248x desktop PC running Windows Vista, including unnecessary programs starting up, screen resolution issues where I can't see part of the picture, and my printer not printing with a 'no dial tone' error. I purchased a recovery disc on 07/14/2010. What is the problem you are having? What is the make and model of the computer you are using? Are you trying to use the recovery disc? Is there anything else you can add to help me answer your question better?

I have a problem with Windows Mail in Vista. Up to 3 days ago, when receiving mail, the PC would notify me with a sound. This is no longer happening. I have checked the 'Play sound when new message arrives' option in Tools - Options - General, and it is ticked. I have also gone to Sounds - Sounds in the Control Panel, but 'New message sounds' no longer appears in the program list. How can I refresh this box or resolve this issue?
