My Dell Inspiron N5030 (Windows 7) stopped responding and now fails to start up normally, showing a 'Windows is loading files...' screen followed by a failed startup repair. I've tried system restores, image restores, and a full factory restore, all of which failed. The 'Diagnosis and repair details' indicate 'No OS files found on disk' with an error code 0x490. What can I do to resolve this issue?

I own a Sony Vaio laptop, VPCEE23FX. It worked fine until one day I tried to boot it up and it wouldn't boot. The disk drive clicks as though it is looking for a disk but there is no activity for the hard drive. Nothing comes up on the screen. What could be the issue and what steps can I take to resolve it?

I tried to modify my Vista password for the System Admin account but made a mistake. Now I can't use the 'sys admin' account despite trying multiple variations of the password. I don't have a boot disk. Is there anything I can do to rectify this problem?
