I have to travel by boat for Christmas and am bringing my 6-month-old lab. We have a 7-hour drive to the port followed by a 2-hour boat ride, during which my dog will be alone and I can't reach her. My dog has a distended stomach on the left side towards the back, about the size of an oblong baseball. He has lost his appetite and threw up his food today. Two days ago, he visited the vet who diagnosed inflammation and prescribed Cephalexin and Rimadyl. We are concerned because the distension is getting larger and he threw up. Could this be a bowel obstruction?
