Our 14-year-old dog, Sammy, was diagnosed with Cushings, which unmasked significant pain. He is not using his left paw, has strained back hips, and is unable to walk much or jump down from furniture without assistance. He has been constantly whimpering for the past day. We've tried tramadol and Rimadyl for pain, but they haven't helped. We are considering stopping the Cushings treatment and focusing on pain management. Is it possible that allowing cortisol levels to rise again could improve his pain management? Are there other pain management options we should consider?

My 2-year-old Australian Shepherd, Chance, is peeing dark red blood with no visible cuts and no signs of discomfort. He has been escaping from a farm in AZ and recently moved to TX. My 5-year-old cocker spaniel has been very lethargic, showing no interest in playing, and growling when approached. He has been walking slowly and hesitantly with his tail between his legs. This behavior started after I came home from the ER, and he had shown similar behavior earlier that day. He has been eating and drinking normally, but I'm very worried about him. What could be wrong, and what should I do until I can take him to the vet?
