My 5-year-old cocker spaniel has been very lethargic, showing no interest in playing, and growling when approached. He has been walking slowly and hesitantly with his tail between his legs. This behavior started after I came home from the ER, and he had shown similar behavior earlier that day. He has been eating and drinking normally, but I'm very worried about him. What could be wrong, and what should I do until I can take him to the vet?

My 11-year-old dog underwent urethral surgery for stone removal but experienced fibrosis, preventing stone removal.
