My 10-year-old Cavalier named Pippa has a stage 4-5 heart murmur and a wheezing cough that seems to be getting worse. She is panting more than usual and has been prescribed Vetmedin 2.5 mg twice daily. She also has SM/CM (Syringomyelia/Chiari malformation), which has been controlled with gabapentin. What should I do to make her more comfortable, and is she possibly dying from congestive heart failure?
