My Dachshund, Red, who is a year old, just had a small rat in his mouth about an hour ago. He is now foaming at the mouth and doesn't want to drink. He just got all his booster shots and rabies shots a couple of weeks ago. What should I do?

My dog ate a small amount of a poppy seed pastry (less than 1/10th of it, but there were lots of poppy seeds). The dog is a 15 lb, 2-year-old named Ruthie, and she ate about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of seeds 10 minutes ago. She seems totally fine as of now. Should I be concerned about poppy seed toxicity?
