My 30-pound pug, Gus, ate a small amount (one or two bites) of cheesy potatoes containing onion at noon today. I read that onions are toxic for dogs and am concerned. Has he been acting normally since then, and should I be worried about onion toxicity?

My 14-week-old Aussie Doodle, Sweetie Pie, bit into a lost AAA battery that rolled under an ottoman. Luckily, I got the pieces and threw them away. She had eaten an hour before this and vomited up 1/8 tsp. of some black compound then a 1/2 c. of ground turkey & rice. Her mouth looks clean & she is acting normal. Should I give her charcoal? The vets are closed. I can take her at 7am tomorrow, but what to do now?

My dog, Royal, a 14-month-old Poochon, keeps throwing up white foamy vomit and cannot keep her food down. She is eating fine and very active. Could she have eaten anything unusual, and is her stress due to the recent absence of another dog a possible cause?

I accidentally gave all the prescribed phenobarbital (3 doses) to my friend's dog, Chloe, who weighs about 25 pounds. The medication was supposed to be split into morning and night doses. What should I do to mitigate the effects, and when should I give her the next dose of medicine?

My dog has been on a combination of Royal Canin Urinary and Farmer's Dog for a couple of months, with added potassium citrate granules, but still has crystals in her urine and needs to lower her pH. She won't eat the prescription food on its own and has more energy with the current diet. What can I do to get rid of the crystals and lower the pH?
