My 8-year-old boxer went from being very active and energetic to being unable to walk in three weeks. She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and has been taking levothyroxine for a week, but continues to decline. She can walk a short distance with assistance and sometimes falls over when squatting to pee. What could be causing this rapid decline and what should I do?

We have a 6-year-old male German Shepherd Dog (GSD) experiencing weakness in all legs, especially on hard surfaces and stairs. He can still walk and run, but slips on hard surfaces and has difficulty going up stairs, but not coming down. This issue was also present last summer but resolved.
