My 8-year-old dog, Marley, is limping on his back leg and has a swollen thigh area. There is no pain when I touch it, and he has not been licking the area. There was some plastic found between his toes on a different leg, but no injury was caused by it. He has had a hip injury before that was treated with hydrotherapy. Should I wait for the swelling to go down or take him to the vet?

My 11-year-old dog, Tootsie, fell from shoulder height onto her head and back on concrete. She seemed a little stunned initially but has since acted normally, eaten a little, not vomited, has equal and reactive pupils, and has a cold nose. She has a heart murmur and weighs 14.5 pounds. Is it safe for her to sleep and play normally, and what should I monitor for?
