We have an 11-year-old Jack Russell named Tiger who has been castrated. Recently, after a holiday where he was more active, he started to bite himself and leak severely at the back where he was castrated. His belly is swollen and hard, and his gums are white. What could be causing this and what should we do?

My 2-year-old pitbull has been having accidents while sleeping (pooping) and has had loose stools after eating a marrow bone. He was also licking his anus area, which has improved after a groomer visit. His stools are not completely solid yet, and I've seen a small amount of mucus. I'm wondering how long I should wait before a vet visit and if I should be concerned about worms or other symptoms.

After the prescribed 72 hours of low-fat gastro-gruel, should I switch him to a low-fat high-grade kibble diet or a homemade diet?
