He also has hypothyroidism, which is currently well-managed. What could be causing these persistent symptoms and what further tests or treatments should be considered?

My 8-year-old Bichon, Cupcake, has been diagnosed with 3-4 bladder stones, strains to urinate, has bloody urine, and has completed a round of antibiotics. We initially planned to try a special diet and antibiotics for a month followed by a repeat x-ray, but decided to proceed with surgery due to her sporadic urination, incontinence, and pain. We were given a surgery date a month from now. Is waiting a month too risky for complications, and should we consider an earlier surgery date?
