My 10-year-old cocker spaniel, Honey, has briny black specks on her skin that resemble roach droppings. They are not flea eggs as they aren't hatching and turning into fleas. She lives outside with good shelter and is clean, but I have bathed her in Dawn dishwashing liquid with no change.
