I am a 35-year-old male with a high fever (102F) that has lasted for about a week, which only temporarily subsides with aspirin. What could be causing these symptoms, and what should I expect from the upcoming tests?

My son, who is seventeen, is taking a protein supplement containing both aspartamine and phenylalanine. I read an article about PKU disorder and how aspartame can be damaging to people who are also taking phenylalanine. Is this combination of amino acids bad for a teenager who has no other medical issues? He is taking 2634mg of aspartamine and 706mg of phenylalanine.

My mother-in-law suffered a stroke on January 5th and was discharged from a Mexican hospital with slight speech impediment, partial paralysis on her right side, and confusion. She is now traveling to California without a medical appointment. Should she be observed in a US hospital, and what medical workup is necessary for her condition?
