I have pain under my left shoulder blade through to the chest. It hurts when I have to take a deep breath. It has continued for just over 30 hours but I do feel a bit better today. A bit of a dry cough, but not too bad. Pain in the shoulder too, though I have arthritis in both shoulders from time to time. What could be causing this pain and what can I do to alleviate it?

What is the difference between a sprain and a fracture? My right index finger is swollen from an injury when I fell on it yesterday morning, and I'm not sure if it's a fracture or a sprain. It only hurts when I move it or bend it, but it's not intense pain (maybe a 4 on the pain scale). It's not red or bruised, but it is really swollen, especially on the knuckle area, and warm to the touch.

By mistake, I put too many ciprodex ear drops in last night (20 hours ago) and have put in the usual dose today. Is this dangerous (the overdose last night)?

What could cause acute constipation in a 65-year-old male who has been experiencing bloating, weakness, fever, severe headache, and difficulty passing stool, despite trying various remedies? He also has a history of kidney stones and frothy urine, and has been making loud 'hacking' noises when trying to bring food back up.

My husband has been breaking out in a rash on the back of his legs, mostly behind his knees but also on his thighs. He has tried various treatments including anti-itch cream, high-end lotions, Vaseline, and triple antibiotic ointment, but the rash remains. What could this be and what could he use to make it go away?

Should I choose Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety or substance abuse, as neither seems to address both issues? Also, is it safe to take Vicodin prescribed by my dentist for pain after having root canals, especially considering my history of substance abuse?
