I have persistent localized pain in my 5th rib that mimics the symptoms of a fractured rib, including difficulty moving, coughing, and breathing, but no tests have shown a fracture. The pain fades away slowly after a week but returns when I bang or hit the rib. I'm an athlete and have had multiple bone scans and MRIs that showed no fractures. What could this be, and how can it be treated?

I have been taking a mixture of herbal supplements including 5-HTP and Butterbur for 2-3 years with no adverse effects. However, after taking Unisom (doxylamine succinate) and Zolpidem (Ambien) while on these supplements, I developed severe muscle twitching, anxiety, insomnia, hallucinations, and other neurological symptoms. I also experienced strange allergies and autonomic disturbances like frequent bowel movements and urinary issues. My blood tests are normal, and I had normal MRI and EEG results before these symptoms started. Could these symptoms be due to serotonin syndrome or another neurological issue, and what tests or treatments could help?

I had a hysterectomy with A & P repair on August 13th. My gynecologist has prescribed Keflex and Urecholine. I can only urinate with the aid of a catheter. I had the catheter in for 2 weeks, tried to train my bladder by clamping the catheter, but still can't pee. Removed the catheter at the 2-week mark, and still can't pee. Now I'm cathing as needed (about 3 to 4 times a day). My doctor says it will take some time, but I wanted a second opinion. Any suggestions?

I am 38 years old with a history of cysts on my ovaries. I experience varying degrees of pain each month, and recently had severe pain on my right side that prevented me from walking upright and urinating. The gynecologist diagnosed it as a ruptured cyst. Since then, I have had persistent burning in the area of my right ovary, with varying degrees of pain. Could I be at risk for ovarian cancer, and could my polycystic ovaries be contributing to my increased depression?
