A family member is 5 months post-surgery from a posterior fusion from C3-T1 and anterior fusion from C4-T1 with hardware. They are still experiencing significant pain. A recent myelogram report indicates unconvertable joint hypertrophy, significant right foraminal narrowing at C3-C4, facet arthropathy at C4-C5, and significant left neural foraminal stenosis. Additionally, there is a posterior disc bulge at C5-C6 that effaces the left ventral thecal sac. Was there not enough decompression performed? What would cause these findings? What are the next steps after receiving a report like this?

I have persistent pain in my left shoulder and arm, and occasionally in the muscles above my heart. I believe it's from sleeping poorly and bad posture due to long hours on the computer. I've had an ECG and treadmill stress test 2 years ago for similar symptoms and was cleared. I'm morbidly obese and an occasional smoker. Pain killers don't seem to lessen the discomfort. What could be causing this pain and what can I do to alleviate it?

My nails on both thumbs, index fingers, and one little finger are yellow and pulling away from the nail beds, chipping in layers. My big toes and several others have black spots and a coarse appearance. I've taken Lamisil in the past, which helped, but it's no longer effective. I'm a 61-year-old female with slightly high cholesterol and a vitamin D deficiency. Could there be an underlying illness or health issue causing this?
