My son worked with my husband a few months ago tearing up wood floors. He has had this spot on his knuckle ever since. It hurts a little if you touch it. What do you think it is?

I have had a small hard swelling on both sides of my navel, especially after eating, with occasional twinges of pain. I've tried Motrin and apple cider vinegar with water, which provided some relief. The swelling and firmness are noticeably gone upon waking. I initially thought it might be related to my gallbladder, but there is no severe pain or other symptoms. What could this be, and what should I do to relieve the discomfort until I can see my doctor?
