I was in a car accident last year. My health insurance paid almost 1/2 million dollars in medical bills. Is it true that if I sue the driver that hit me, out of any settlement I would receive, I would first have to reimburse my health insurance company for the 1/2 million dollars and my car insurance company that paid for part of the med flight helicopter, lost wages, etc.?
