Does Chapter 210 of the Code, which applies to all 'buildings and structures' erected, apply to temporary metal structures such as a carport, given that it does not contain an exception for temporary structures and adopts the State Uniform Dwelling Code that applies to permanent structures?

We have requested repairs for the closet doors in my daughter's bedroom three times, and despite assurances that they were fixed, the door fell on my daughter's head, causing her to go to the ER. Can I sue the landlord for negligence in California, and what are the steps to do so?

If the father's license is suspended due to non-payment of support, am I responsible for getting the child to him for visitation, and are there legal repercussions for him if he drives with the child in the car despite his suspended license?

I invented a self-defense tool called 'lasso net' that uses a net and lasso combination to constrict around people, with a locking system using zip ties. I plan to use this technology for self-defense. Have you heard of this, and is it novel?

I have been married for 40 years and have been thinking about divorce or separation. My wife has never worked, and I am paying a mortgage on my house as well as substantial credit card debt. All my kids are grown and out of the house. Would the monthly maintenance be more than I can afford, or should I just go for a separation?

I am in a difficult marriage with a husband who has severe mental issues, lies, steals from me, and harasses me constantly. He has a payee due to irresponsible behavior and makes about $4000 a month from veteran benefits and Social Security, but I never see any of it. I am saving to leave, but in the meantime, he follows me around the house and harasses me. I've been told I might be entitled to spousal support, but also that it might be difficult to obtain due to the length of our marriage. Additionally, he has a history of causing scenes and bringing homeless people into our home. I've had a run-in with the law where I was taken to jail for hitting him, and I'm not sure how that will affect my situation. What legal steps can I take to protect myself and potentially obtain spousal support?
