I was kicked out of a restaurant where I had previously worked. The owner's wife greeted me and seated me with my child, but after ordering, the wife and manager abruptly asked me to leave without explanation. I was embarrassed and asked why, but the only response was that the owner did not want me there. I left peacefully. Do I have any legal recourse?

I was charged with petit larceny and accused of stealing a check for $80. I did not plead guilty and have to go to court on June 8. My boss checked video surveillance and my ID at work, showing no indication I went to the floor where the check was stolen. The detective failed to check video surveillance at the bank or compare my handwriting with the check. What should I do since I have to represent myself because I don't have a lawyer?

I was offered an Administrative certificate in a school system for July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. I signed the contract and returned it. My school district then told me that they did not have any administrative positions and that I would be placed on a .5 (part-time) basis for the next year, the contracted period. I have 45 annual days and 85 sick leave days. They verbally agreed to payout my leave time if I retire as May 31, 2010. Is my contract binding if I signed it? Can they place me on a part-time basis if I have worked in the system for 20 plus years? Should I settle for a payout for the 2010 school year and retire, as I am of retirement age?

I am a 3rd tier subcontractor in a verbal contract with a 2nd tier subcontractor, who has a written contract with a prime contractor. The work was completed, and a stop notice was filed for the full amount owed by the 3rd tier subcontractor. The prime contractor offered to pay $12,500 of the $15,000 owed if I sign off the stop notice. Can I sue the 2nd tier subcontractor for the remaining $2,500 owed, especially since they have been paid for the work I performed and still have $6,000 in retention?
