I am a handyman who completed various repair services for a property owner in Long Beach, California. I provided a work-order contract with hand-written details for a total sum of $485.00, which she signed. I joined a REIT through a well-known Real Estate school and paid $1,500 for educational purposes that were not provided. We purchased properties and paid for construction, but the work stalled after our second payment. The director used his brother's company for construction without obtaining independent estimates as required by the agreement. We were also charged a monthly membership fee of $250 to attend meetings, which we believe is prolonging the construction to generate revenue for the school. What legal actions can be taken against the director and the school for these violations?
